Roadworthy repairable (Overview)

After a non-fault accident, your car is usually considered “roadworthy repairable” if it can be safely driven and repaired. This usually means the damage is mainly cosmetic (affecting the car’s appearance) rather than structural or mechanical.

Here's what happens when your vehicle is roadworthy and repairable:

  1. Establishing Fault: We start by fighting and establishing liability, confirming that the other driver was at fault. Read more
  2. Repair centre assigned and repairs authorised: We’ll assign an accident repair centre from our nationwide network. We'll then get the repairs authorised by the third-party insurer. Read more
  3. Scheduling Repairs: Your repairs are scheduled in with the assigned accident repair centre. Read more
  4. We'll Bring You a Replacement Car and Take Yours for Repair: We’ll deliver a comparable hire vehicle to you. This is for you to use while yours is being repaired. We'll also arrange to pick up your damaged car and take it to the repair centre. Read more
  5. Repairs Completed: Your car will be fixed to the highest standards by our BSI Kitemark Accredited repair centre. Read more
  6. Returning the Hire Car: We'll collect the replacement car when we deliver your repaired vehicle back to you. Read more
  7. Payment is Requested from the Third-party Insurer: We request payment from the third-party insurer. The third-party insurer covers all costs, so there’s no cost to you. Read more
