Contacted by your insurer or at-fault driver’s insurer?
Don’t panic. You don’t have to agree to anything yet.
Three steps.
Ten seconds to understand.
Never been through this before? Most of our customers haven't either.

Call us, it costs you nothing
We check your claim is clearly non-fault, free and with no obligation. If we can’t help, we'll tell you straight and point you the right way.

We handle everything
Like-for-like car delivered, repairs booked at a manufacturer-standard garage, and we deal with the other driver’s insurer so you never have to.

Their insurer pays the bill
The whole cost goes to the at-fault side - nothing from your pocket, nothing on your policy.
Open Today 8am - 8pm
It wasn't your fault - so why would your premium pay for it?
Claim through your own insurer and, even when you're entirely blameless, you'll usually pay your excess up front and an open claim sits on your policy while they recover their costs - which can take up to two years, and renewals can rise the whole time.
Pulled from a live call transcript with one of our customers:
Claim through us and your insurer is simply notified for information only. No claim opens on your policy, there's no excess to find, and your no-claims bonus is untouched.
The #1 question we’re asked most.
Through us, the answer is ‘no’ - nothing goes on your policy.
Why can't your own insurer just do all this? As one of our team puts it: We specialise in claims, they specialise in policies.
How we help - in 60 seconds
No jargon, no small print. One of our claims experts walks through exactly what happens from your first call to the at-fault insurer settling the bill - including the question everyone asks: "so what's the catch?"
Claiming through insurers is not your only option
After a non-fault accident you have three routes. Here's the honest difference, so you can choose with your eyes open.
Deal with their
insurer direct
Handler answers to the at-fault side
- No excess to pay
- Replacement car: whatever costs them least
- Repairs through their network, cheapest route
- Write-off value is their figure - take it or leave it
- When they delay, it costs them nothing
Claim on
your own policy
Handler answers to your insurer
- A name you already know
- You pay the excess, even non-fault
- Open claim on your policy up to ~2 years - renewals rise
- Small courtesy car, if any
- "Approved" or recycled parts
Claim through
Auto Claims Assist
Your handler works for you
- No excess - and nothing on your policy
- Like-for-like replacement car
- Genuine parts, lifetime warranty on repairs
- Independent valuation if it's written off
- Their delay costs them money every day - we keep the clock running for you
Their insurer has a whole team working to pay you as little as possible. We're yours.
”What's the catch?"
Fair question.
If a service sounds free, you should ask who pays. Here's the honest answer - the same one our claims experts give on every call.
At rates pre-agreed across the industry under the GTA - the standing agreement between insurers and accident management companies. Never you.
Tell us the truth and cooperate with your claim, and you will never be charged - if we can't recover a cost, we take the loss.
Even if you think you've gone too far - a claim already opened, weeks gone by, promises made - we can often still take it on. It depends on your circumstances, not a fixed deadline. Call and we'll tell you straight, either way.

Why the other driver's insurer called you so quickly
ACA customer
When their driver is at fault, their insurer's job is to keep the cost of your claim as low as possible. The fastest way is to reach you first - with a friendly offer to "take care of everything." They'll promise the same things we do. The difference is who they answer to.
ACA customer
What happens after people say yes: the wrong car turns up, the cheap repair goes ahead anyway, the promised figure shrinks - and once you accept their services, nobody else is allowed to take over. It's a one-way door. Some people are even talked into cancelling their claims company "so we can deal with you directly" - then hear nothing.
we're going to remove the courtesy car today.

You don't have to accept, and you don't have to speak to them. Politely tell them your claim is being handled and hang up. Then call us.
“As soon as I mentioned Auto Claims Assist, they suddenly offered me the right car.”
Insurers improve their offer when you have leverage. The question is who's holding it for the rest of the claim - a matched offer doesn't change whose side they're on.
The sooner you call, the stronger your claim
Delay is the insurer's favourite tactic - the longer things drift, the fewer options you have. And if your car still drives, that's exactly when they can stall you longest: their delay costs them nothing until someone's fighting your corner. Call before you agree to anything.
Already been a few days - or longer? Don't rule yourself out. What we can take on depends on your circumstances, not a fixed deadline - call and we'll tell you straight where you stand.

The questions everyone asks us
If you claim through your own insurer, usually yes - an open claim sits on your policy for up to two years while they recover their costs, and renewals rise in that window. Claiming through us puts nothing on your policy: you simply notify your insurer for information purposes only.
Nothing. We're paid by the at-fault driver's insurer at industry-agreed rates. As long as you're truthful and cooperate with your claim, you will never receive a bill from us.
Most policies ask you to report any accident - but reporting is not claiming. You tell them it's for notification purposes only and that the claim is being handled elsewhere. No claim opens on your policy.
No. You're under no obligation to speak to the at-fault driver's insurer. Politely tell them your claim is being handled, end the call, and let us deal with them.
Be careful. In our experience the offer often shrinks, stalls or disappears once you've got a repair quote - and a private settlement can end your right to claim properly later. Talk to us before accepting anything.
Usually not - even when people are sure they've started too much or left it too long, we can often still take the claim on. It comes down to your circumstances: the state of your car, how far things have gone and why. Call us and we'll tell you exactly where you stand.
No - if you have their registration number, we can trace their insurer. It's rarely a dead end.
No - a drivable car is when insurers can stall you the longest, because the delay costs them nothing. Your claim doesn't get stronger by waiting, and neither does the repair you're owed. Start now, keep driving if it's safe, and we'll run the claim around you.
