Roadworthy Vehicle (Overview)

If your car can still be safely driven after a non-fault accident, we’re here to guide you through the claims process and ensure you get back on the road as quickly as possible. Our objective, as an accident management company, is to take the hassle and stress away from an accident that wasn’t your fault.

We’ll take care of all the details, including arranging for repairs, dealing with insurance companies, and keeping you informed every step of the way.

Sometimes, even though your car is safe to drive after an accident, the cost of repairs might be more than than 70% of what the car is worth. Insurer’s class this as being ‘too uneconomical to repair’. This is then categorised as “roadworthy total loss” or “roadworthy write-off”.

In cases like these, the other driver’s insurance company won’t pay for repairs, but they will offer you a total loss (Write off) settlement to cover the value of your car before the accident (The pre-accident valuation)

We don’t directly handle these types of claims because there’s no requirement for a replacement hire vehicle or vehicle repairs within the claims process.

The non-fault driver will continue to drive their own vehicle while the insurer organises a settlement payment for the vehicle’s pre-accident value.

However, first, it’s important to understand if your vehicle is classed as a roadworthy total loss. It’s important not to jump to this conclusion yourself, as this might not be the case.
