Why is there no cost to me for your service?
In simple terms, it's because the at-fault driver is legally responsible for all your costs and losses. Their insurance policy is there to cover these expenses.
The other driver’s insurance company pays the costs
- We provide our services to you on credit.
- We manage your entire claim for you, from start-to-finish.
- We then recover all the costs directly from the at-fault driver's insurance company.
This process ensures you get everything you're entitled to without you ever being out of pocket.

This is your legal right after a non-fault accident
When an accident isn't your fault, UK law aims to put you back in the position you were in before it happened.
This long-standing legal principle called ‘negligence’ means: the driver who caused the accident is legally responsible for covering all the genuine costs and losses you've suffered. This includes the disruption and inconvenience caused, and is why you are legally entitled to:
-
High-quality repairs at a BSI Kitemark-accredited repair centre.
-
Manufacturer-approved parts and paint.
-
A comparable replacement vehicle for the entire time yours is off the road.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
No. There is nothing to pay upfront when you use our service. This is because, from the start, we cover all the costs for you under a credit hire agreement.
What is a ‘credit hire agreement’?
This is simply a legal way of saying that we will cover the costs upfront on your behalf.
It allows us to get your car repaired and provide you with a replacement vehicle immediately, without you needing to pay anything.
When the at-fault driver’s insurance company pays the costs at the end of the claim, the credit agreement with us is settled in full.
Could I end up paying the costs?
No - the agreement you sign with us is clear: You are legally responsible for the charges, but we pursue and claim these costs from the at-fault driver's insurance company directly, on your behalf.
If costs can’t be recovered from their insurance company
In the unlikely event that we cannot recover the charges from the insurer, these costs will be written off as long as you have followed the terms of the agreement and cooperated with us.
This is called Contingent Liability, or more commonly referred to as 'no win, no fee'. It ensures you aren't left with an unexpected bill.
How does Auto Claims Assist make money?
Our revenue comes from the daily rate of the comparable replacement hire vehicle that we provide to you.
This daily hire rate is included within the costs that we recover from the at-fault driver's insurer at the end of the claim.
Auto Claims Assist are members of The GTA; which means that our hire vehicle rates are pre-agreed with most major insurance companies.
